Clinic

The logistics of the clinic are a work in progress.  People were waiting for us upon our arrival and we stayed almost 2 hours longer than planned just to see the patients we had checked in. Unfortunately, some were turned away.  Our 3 providers saw over 115 patients today.  Some very common ailments and some unique cases.  Many cases of diabetes, some chicken pox, headaches and pain, skin rashes and cough.

VBS Prep

The community hall was extemely dirty when we arrived.  The construction crew helped moved things around, sweep out the building and generally clean up, prior to setting up the VBS materials.  (See the pile of dust that Mark and Nicholas collected.....we swept about 10 more times after they left.) Wow what a difference!

Time to Serve

Today was our first day of working in San Pablo.  After opening devotions, we made our way to the clinic, the community center and the construction site.  It took a long time to get the clinic up and running, since we couldn't set up last night, but we finally got things moving.

Prayer Requests

We were not able to set up the medical clinic as planned tonight, so we all need to work on that early in the morning.

The VBS site is still under discussion. When we arrived today we were told that they invited the school children....over 200 of them!  We're excited about sharing the Good News of Jesus with so many young children, but we didn't bring that many crafts!  Help Lord!!  Your prayers to prepare the hearts of those we are going to serve was certainly heard, because the children are ready.

Prayers of thanksgiving for our wonderful driver, Ramero, the people who have prepared our wonderful meals, the mayor and our prayer warriors.

Patience, Trust and Wisdom.

No Language Barriers

It didn't take long to meet new friends.  Playing ball is a universal language.

(PS  Nicholas and Bretten probably should not be goalies for the Wisconsin Valley team.....as time expired the score was Guatemalans 42, Gringos 3)
